Jules Tarrant

Hi! My name is Jules Tarrant and I am the Director of Coaching (Australia) with Beyond Success and proud to be so. I am guessing that you would like to know a little bit about me and my experience.

I am 36 and the single parent of two great kids – my son Flynn, 7, and my daughter Jazz, 5. We live in Canberra and share our home with our cat, Kevin.

I have been attending Beyond Success courses and developing through their material for over eleven years now and boy, have I come a long way! I am one of the thousands of people who can testify to the power of the skills Paul and Mary teach and I can honestly say that every year of my life gets better and better.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Science degree specialising in psychology from the University of New England. I was awarded a scholarship for having the highest results in the psychology faculty during my final year.

Realising the importance of broad life experience for someone aspiring to help others live a better life, I have worked in a number of industries, including Life Coaching with Beyond Success, and travelled around the world until I was ready to settle down and begin a family.

In line with my core values, I made the decision to be a full time mother and have spent the better part of my last seven years doing just that. The experience of being a parent has brought so much more to my awareness. My children are wonderful instructors on how to manage life!

During this period I became highly involved in the community. I have held many committee positions in community groups, am involved in my children’s school and Joey Scout activities. As a result of my volunteer work with women and young children I was asked to be guest speaker at the launch of the ACT Action Plan for Mental Health Promotion, Prevention and Early Intervention 2006-2008. In November 2007 the ACT Chief Minister, Jon Stanhope, invited me to offer my perspective of community programs within the ACT.

In addition to having attended just about all the courses Beyond Success have offered in the last ten years, I have completed Voice Dialogue Facilitation training, Parenting Effectiveness Training, I am a certified Hypnotist, TimeLine Therapist, and a certified NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and Coach. I have also managed a number of small businesses in various industries. The most recent business won the 2006 ACT Training Excellence Awards and was awarded Finalist for the 2006 Australian Training Excellence Awards (small business category) under my management.

I get a BIG buzz out of training and supporting people who are seeking to be the best they can be and I love the Beyond Success way of doing things. Paul, Mary and the team have managed to find a terrific way of facilitating transformations in people through their courses and material, while having heaps of fun.

There is such a strong demand for coaching services in our society. People often don't take the time to listen to each other and it can be a hard slog trying to get your life in the direction you desire without objective encouragement and support. Clients have always come to me easily because I believe in being authentic. One of my primary focuses in developing the coach training program is to attract and educate the highest quality coaches in Australia and the world. My belief is that this can only be achieved if coaches are encourage to be 'real'. I feel really blessed to spend my time doing something that I love and really contributing to the world my children grow up in. Being really well paid is an awesome bonus!

My philosophy around coaching is that a great coach isn’t necessarily someone who has ‘got it all together’ and who lives a ‘perfect’ life. A great coach is someone who is still striving to be the best they can be, everyday. A great coach understands that while they are helping their clients to realise their dreams, the client is also offering huge amounts of wisdom and as such it is a synergistic relationship – a journey of learning that you take together.
